Ollie Watkins will not be joining Arsenal prior to the end of this transfer window, according to Unai Emery, who recently sold striker Jhon Duran to Al-Nassr for £77.5 million.
Ollie Watkins has expressed his desire to remain at Aston Villa to Unai Emery.
The England player, who is the target of an Arsenal proposal of £40 million, has discussed his future with the Spaniard. Additionally, Emery, who just sold striker Jhon Duran to Al-Nassr for £77.5 million, has stated that the 29-year-old will not be leaving before the end of current transfer window.
“Yes, he is happy to stay,” Villa’s manager responded when asked if he had that commitment from his star striker. Every day for every year that he has been here with Aston Villa, both with and without us, we asked him how he was feeling. He is content to remain.
When asked to elaborate, Emery said: “Ollie Watkins’ dedication to us is enormous. He values how Aston Villa has always helped and supported him, and how we worked with him when we brought him here two years ago, always trying to get the best out of him.”
He needed Aston Villa, and we need him now. He is constantly adapting to any situation we have in the team and with him personally, and I tend to talk to him a lot these days.
Naturally, it is advantageous for both the players and us when teams contact us to express interest in the players.
While some participants would rather go, others agree to stay, commit to our cause, and take on our task. Ollie Watkins is among them.
After Villa defeated Celtic in the Champions League on Wednesday, Emery stated that he was determined to keep Watkins, but he acknowledged that Duran’s departure was a good deal for the team.

The Spaniard responded, “I don’t want (him to leave),” when asked if he could guarantee Watkins wouldn’t be sold. Having offers from other clubs is fantastic news. With the players in our group, we want to maintain our sporting goal.
“If it benefits both the player and the club, any player can be in the market.” We will be demanding in order to secure this arrangement. Our striker is Watkins. Although Duran wants to go on, Emery stated that he wanted him to stay at the team because it’s a good deal.
“Other clubs are interested in our players, and they are also paying us well,” he continued. “But naturally, our goal is to maintain our structure wisely because we want to be on the sports side at the level we are, and maintaining it for a long period is the hardest task we face.
Naturally, there are moments when we must make the decision to sell some players, as well as to adapt and make an effort to keep getting better. Jhon Duran’s departure is fantastic news for us since it suggests they are paying good money, but I won’t know for sure until everything is finalised.
“We received this offer because we have developed one young player in the last two years.” These conditions might be favourable not just for the team but also for the club, players, and team. The team, the player, and the club.
