Ivan Toney is no longer the Premier League’s hottest transfer target as Manchester United considers whether to bolster their attacking ranks. Toney is expected to leave Brentford this summer.

This summer, Manchester United ought to make a serious push for Ollie Watkins and reject an offer for Ivan Toney.

According to Paul Parker, a former defender, the Aston Villa center-forward is the best all-around No. 9 in the Premier League. Despite his injury problems in his first season at Old Trafford, Rasmus Hojlund has shown glimpses of promise. However, Parker believes that as Sir Jim Ratcliffe starts his transformation of the team, he should focus on another goal scorer.

Even though it’s widely anticipated that Toney will leave Brentford this summer, the former full back is advising United to concentrate their efforts on Watkins instead, in part because the latter is attempting to imitate Harry Kane by dropping deep to participate in link-up play.

“Ivan Toney is not going to be the player you bring in to challenge Hojlund, in my opinion. Parker told mybettingsites, “It’s going to be somebody of more note than Ivan Toney.”

You would say the same about Ivan Toney collaborating with a well-known individual. In my opinion, he hasn’t accrued enough points as a Premier League striker to be considered an understudy.”

Ivan Toney is a center-forward, right? Not really. In that regard, he’s attempting to play more like Harry Kane.

“Watkins is the player you should bring in if you’re going to bring in a center-forward and you plan to keep him based in the United Kingdom,” However, he will set you back £100 million, and quite rightly so. Ivan Toney, £25–30 million, but Watkins has consistently shown his value.

Parker added that Watkins’ outstanding season for fourth-place Villa is not receiving the credit it deserves because of concerns expressed by the media regarding Watkins’ potential to derail Harry Kane’s England career this summer at the European Championship.

Parker continued, “The only thing that goes against him is that the English press don’t want to talk about him much.” Watkins leads the league with 19 goals and 12 assists. Perhaps they’re concerned about Harry Kane’s position.

“I fail to see why he receives zero praise from the media. Look at how many goals he makes and his work rate off the ball—he’s so selfless and yet manages to score goals. He is the league’s best all-around center forward in every regard.
