Ronald Araujo, an international player from Uruguay, is being offered by Manchester United to Barcelona in an intriguing trade deal.
The Red Devils are reportedly prepared to send Mason Mount to Barcelona in addition to making a cash offer of 55 million euros, according to the Spanish outlet Nacional, in order to acquire the La Liga center half.
The Old Trafford team and Chelsea reached an agreement last summer to acquire the England international for a reported £60 million.
But this season, Mount has either been sidelined with injuries for extended periods of time or, when healthy, has played mediocrely.
As a result, according to the Catalan media outlet, Man Utd has given up on the midfield player and is looking to trade him for Ronald Araujo.
Prior to joining the 20-time English champions, Mount was an important member of the Blues, particularly when Thomas Tuchel was in charge.
He frequently scored, assisted in scoring, and even set up the game-winning goal in the 2021 Champions League final.
He has only scored once and assisted once for Manchester United in his 19 appearances this season. To be fair, the fans wouldn’t care if he was traded to sign Araujo.
We reported on a report from Sport last week that stated Bayern Munich is also interested in the £69 million-rated 25-year-old defender.
Do you think Man Utd should trade Mount to acquire Araujo?
