Remarkably, the Barcelona icon became Argentina’s oldest ever World Cup scorer, exactly 20 years after being the country’s youngest ever scorer in the event.
The veteran inspired his country to victory in the 2022 tournament in Qatar, and if he repeats the feat this year, he would cement his status as the sport’s greatest player of all time.

Meanwhile, Dyche, a former Nottingham Forest, Everton, Burnley, and Watford manager, posted a photo on Instagram on Wednesday posing with a Lego figure of himself, captioned: “He might have the joint most World Cup goals, the most career goal contributions at the World Cup, and be the oldest player ever to score a World Cup hat trick.” But his Lego guy isn’t as impressive as this!”
Dyche has not managed since being fired by Forest in February, and the City Ground club went on to secure Premier League status under new manager Vitor Pereira.
The 54-year-old has kept followers up to date on his activities via his Instagram account, which he created in May, and has also featured as a guest on talkSPORT in recent weeks.
Dyche is still best known for his 10-year time at Burnley, despite having had mixed results with Everton and Forest in recent seasons.

The 38-year-old has an amazing 507 million followers, which dwarfs Dyche’s 236,000 followers.
Meanwhile, after leading Argentina to a victory over Algeria, Messi wrote: “Happy for the start, grateful for the love, and very proud to see this group compete again as they have done all these years.”
Sergio Aguero, a former Manchester City star, was among others who commented, saying, “You’re the best there is.”
