‘I was afraid’ – Teemu Pukki drops honest Norwich City claim.

Last season, Norwich City had a tumultuous Championship campaign.

Norwich began last season with the goal of pursuing promotion after hiring Liam Manning, who had previously led Bristol City to a sixth-place finish.

However, Manning’s tenure at Carrow Road was a catastrophe, with the 40-year-old winning only three of his 17 games in charge and failing to pick up a single point at home, and he was fired in November with the Canaries sitting 23rd in the standings.

With supporters also protesting against sporting director Ben Knapper, Norwich appeared to be on the verge of relegation to League One, until the appointment of Philippe Clement transformed their season.

Under Clement, the Canaries were one of the best teams in the Championship in the second part of the season, and while reaching the play-offs proved to be too much after a disastrous start, they ended ninth, just seven points below the top six.

Teemu Pukki discusses Norwich City’s relegation fears before to Philippe Clement’s hiring.

Given Norwich’s previous history of challenging at the top of the Championship, their early season problems surprised many, including club great Teemu Pukki.

Pukki scored 88 goals in 210 appearances during a successful five-year spell at Carrow Road between 2018 and 2023, hitting double figures in each of the club’s second tier title-winning seasons under Daniel Farke. He expressed concern about his former club’s relegation to League One before Clement’s arrival.I was terrified,

to be honest. Pukki expressed concern about what could happen in December to the Pink Un.Obviously, when Clement came in, everything changed. The team’s progress from pre-existing situation to almost reaching the play-offs demonstrates the impact of his efforts. Now he’ll have a whole preseason and the opportunity to bring in the players he wants.

“I’m optimistic about the upcoming season and hope they can build on their recent performance.”Hopefully, Premier League football will return to Carrow Road soon, maybe the season after next.”

Pukki, who has scored goals in the Championship, expects Mathias Kvistgaarden, Mo Toure, and Jovon Makama to score for Norwich next season. It is very exciting. Clearly, Kvistgaarden has been playing in a different position. Toure settled in quickly and began scoring goals in an outstanding fashion.

Makama then sustained an injury as a result of his great performance, which is difficult to deal with when you are just getting started. Pukki stated, “Hopefully, he’s fit now and can build up again in pre-season.

“”There are excellent candidates who have demonstrated their ability to perform at that level.”They are also different types of players, which allows the staff to select the greatest fit. Hopefully, they’ll do well next season.

Norwich City fans will share Teemu Pukki’s hope following Philippe Clement’s revival.

With results on the pitch and mounting unrest in the fans, it was tough not to worry about Norwich near the conclusion of Manning’s time, but they are clearly on the right track under Clement.

After an excellent turnaround in form under Clement, the Canaries are expected to be one of the promotion favourites next season, and if they can handle with the added pressure, they should be more than capable of finishing in the top eight.

While the judgement is still out on Kvistgaarden, Toure and Makama demonstrated their ability to be prolific scorers in the Championship last season, and if they can avoid injuries, they might follow in Pukki’s footsteps and propel Norwich to the Premier League.
