Marcus Rashford came off the bench for his Aston Villa debut in the FA Cup fourth round win over Spurs.
After making his Aston Villa debut against Spurs on Sunday, Marcus Rashford has spoken out.
Under Ruben Amorim, Rashford was surplus to needs at Manchester United, drawing interest from a wide range of teams, including Borussia Dortmund, Barcelona, and AC Milan.
In order to give Rashford a fresh challenge that he was eager for, Villa was able to persuade him to sign on loan until the end of the season as the January transfer window came to a conclusion.
A sizable portion of Rashford’s salary is being covered by Villa, and when the loan is over, the Midlands team can choose to make the deal permanent for a sum of £40 million.
Alongside fellow loanee Marco Asensio, who joined from Paris Saint-Germain, he made his debut after starting on the bench in the FA Cup match against Spurs at Villa Park.
Morgan Rogers and Jacob Ramsey had given Villa a 2-0 lead, but Rashford, in the No. 9 shirt, had a big point to prove and looked fantastic in his 30-minute cameo.
The 27-year-old put forth a lot of effort, won duels with opponents, and got along well with his new teammates.
After returning to the pitch for the first time since mid-December, a jubilant Rashford sent a message on Instagram after Villa lost a late consolation goal to Spurs striker Mathys Tel in his complete debut.
Rashford posted a number of images of himself with supporters holding signs directed at the England player, writing: “I appreciate the kind welcome. Excellent teamwork.
When Villa hosts Ipswich Town in the Premier League on Saturday, Rashford will be hoping to make his entire debut for the team.
