Football fans were stunned to find that EFL great Lee Trundle is still playing professional football, and he’s still scoring bangers.
Having played for 20 different teams across England and Wales, Trundle has established himself as a legend of the EFL, hitting some world class goals over his 30 year career.
The period of time that Trundle spent at Swansea City was the most productive and well-known of his career. During his time with the Welsh club, he made 199 appearances and scored 92 goals while also providing 29 assists.
He went on to play for a number of other well-known teams in the English Football League, such as Bristol City and Leeds United, but the news that Trundle is still playing professional football at the age of 48 came as a surprise to a number of fans.
Given his age, it should come as no surprise that Trundle has spent the majority of his recent years playing for clubs that are at the bottom of the football pyramid in the United Kingdom.
Trefelin Boys & Girls Club, a Welsh club that is now competing in the Cymru South league, is the team that he is currently playing for. He has made an astounding 33 appearances across all competitions, scoring 21 goals and assisting six others.
Moreover, in his most recent match in the domestic league, he brought to the attention of a few fans the fact that, despite the fact that he is obviously in the latter stages of his career, he still possesses an extraordinary capacity to score goals.
“Absolutely blessed to have witnessed talent like this at Swansea and still banging in screamers,” commented one fan in response to the goal. “I would like to thank you for the opportunity.” Complete and utter delight”

It was just a month ago that Trundle was awarded the JD Cymru South player of the month award for his outstanding season with Trefelin, and he is not showing any signs of slowing down!
