Victor Lindelof’s Wife Reveals Reason Why He Left at HT in Man United vs Lyon

Maja, Victor Lindelof’s wife, has disclosed why the Swedish defender had to leave Old Trafford at halftime during Manchester United’s thrilling 5–4 Europa League victory against Lyon in the middle of the week. The 30-year-old needed to leave M16 quickly and urgently, but he was ready to enter at halftime to help stabilise the backline.

Since then, it has been revealed that Lindelof’s little kid was taken to the hospital after suffering a severe head injury, which led to his father’s abrupt departure and compelled Luke Shaw to make an early comeback to the pitch. Both Lindelof and Noussair Mazraoui missed the match for personal reasons, according to manager Ruben Amorim, after United eventually guaranteed their spot in the semi-finals of the only competition they still have a chance to win.

Why Victor Lindelof Had To Leave Old Trafford At Half-time Against Lyon

His three-year-old son suffered a grisly domestic accident

According to The Sun, Maja wrote: “Our babysitter called an hour before the [Lyon] game began to inform us that they were their route to the hospital in an ambulance. Francis, my youngest kid, had shattered his head open. He had fallen into our glass staircase while pursuing his older brother, Ted Louie, at home.

“He had two portions to his forehead. He spent Thursday and Friday in the hospital. In order to reconstruct his forehead, plastic surgery was required. They put him under anaesthesia. This is the first instance of anything similar occurring with one of my kids. I don’t want to go through that again because it was really terrible.

“The procedure went smoothly, and Francis is already back to his normal routine. He has returned to normal and is a Viking. Despite everyone’s concerns, he goes on with his life as if nothing had occurred. He will have a large scar on his forehead, according to the physicians. But anyway, I’m just glad it went so smoothly.

Against Wolves on Sunday, Lindelof made his comeback to the United team as captain. He was substituted immediately after Pablo Sarabia’s strike as the visitors defeated Old Trafford 1-0, and he is anticipated to remain in the starting lineup when they go to the south coast to play Bournemouth on Sunday.
