The departing of Liverpool
As of right now, Liverpool Football Club Women manager Matt Beard has resigned from his position, according to the club’s announcement.

Having returned from the United States to rejoin the club in 2021, Beard was in charge of the Reds for the second time during this particular stint.

In the first season after his return, he led Liverpool back to the Women’s Super League (WSL). However, this season, Liverpool has struggled and is currently only nine points away from the bottom of the table.

His departure has now been brought about as a result of this, and assistant manager Amber Whiteley has been promoted to an interim position for the time being.

This morning, the club issued the following statement: “We have all experienced some fantastic moments with Matt as manager of LFC Women, and we express our gratitude for his significant contribution.”

Our top priority was to get this team back to where it should be, and we were able to accomplish that. In 2022, we were successful in achieving promotion to the Women’s Super League.

It is imperative that we continue to build upon that momentum, and despite the fact that this decision has been challenging, we are of the opinion that it affords us the most favourable opportunity for future success on the field.
