In the event that Ineos fires Erik ten Hag, former Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel thinks Thomas Tuchel would be the ideal replacement.
If Thomas Tuchel were to take Erik ten Hag’s place at Manchester United in the upcoming weeks, Peter Schmeichel thinks he could have an impact akin to that of Jurgen Klopp.
Following a chastening second season as manager at Old Trafford, Ten Hag is under a great deal of pressure. The Red Devils may even have their lowest-ever Premier League finish after losing their chance to advance to the Champions League the following year.

I believe he has been somewhat unfortunate to have been at two major football teams at the wrong points in their histories, when things were not going well on all fronts.
It’s not as though, say, that he wasn’t successful with Chelsea. He did, after all, win the Champions League? I simply enjoy him. Something about him appeals to me. He gives off an air of authority. Although you should never compare people, he shares Klopp’s traits, you know?
He should be a name mentioned in that regard if Manchester United were looking to hire a manager. He ought to be. That kind of pedigree is his. As I mentioned before, he possesses authority and has demonstrated his ability to prevail, which is crucial in my opinion.
