Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, has brushed off claims that he cannot be beaten while leading the team to the Premier League, stating he still has unresolved business at the club.

City will become the first team in history to win the championship four times in a row if they defeat West Ham at the Etihad, their sixth title in seven years.

The City manager is adamant about playing again next season, despite rumors that he might quit before the last 12 months of his contract after setting more records.

Guardiola said, “Yes, I have a contract,” during his last pregame press conference of the season. “I want to be here next year, yes.”

In addition, he dismissed the notion that City’s supremacy hurts the Premier League, saying, “Yeah, I’m a genius, I’m so good, if the narrative was that I was winning by 20 points.

However, it’s not. Arsenal can win this Premier League match, just as they have won the others that we have won.”

Throughout the years, Guardiola never lost his respect for Liverpool, saying, “A win is a win.”

“Everyone wants to smell good like the winners do. It’s the result of a great deal of work. You don’t have the right (to win) because of anything you did in the past. It is entirely the contrary.

“It’s a lot of work for all departments the backroom staff, the medical department, the office department, how they care about those few, few inches.”

“The balance is absurdly excellent. You couldn’t be here with us otherwise.”

Guardiola watched Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool win the championship in 2020 ahead of his own team, having finished third in his debut season as City’s manager behind Antonio Conte’s Chelsea.

Under Guardiola, City has won two of its previous championships by defeating Liverpool on the last day of play.

The champions are aware that Mikel Arteta’s team could take the title if they lose to the Hammers and the Gunners defeat Everton at the Emirates, as Arsenal was able to come back to win the title with two games remaining in the regular season.

The first team to reach a century of points was City in 2018. They were the first club to win a domestic triple crown a year later.

They shared the Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup victories of Manchester United last year.

They’re playing United in the FA Cup Final this Saturday for the second year in a row, and they’re going to Wembley with the chance to become the first club to win a double header.

Guardiola credits a group of players who don’t hesitate to challenge him for City’s success.

“We’ve had conflicts this season, between them and me,” he said. It’s typical. The secret lies in how they resolve it.

“I’m sure they’ll be incredibly focused. Everyone is aware of the goal we have in mind. It is impossible for any of us to win four straight times again. That won’t occur in our lifetimes.

“We must both experience and enjoy it. I’ve stated numerous times that we wouldn’t stand a chance without these enormous personalities.

“The players’ season has started off well, and nothing has changed based on the previous two games.

“West Ham has the ability to produce unexpected results, especially with their four up front players. That’s what I’m worried about right now.”
