Fabrizio Romano wrote in his GIVEMESPORT email that Raheem Sterling’s miserable tenure at Arsenal would probably end ceremoniously at the end of the season because the former England international hasn’t impressed during his time in north London.
Sterling enjoyed a successful career at Liverpool and particularly Manchester City, but the Jamaican-born player has struggled since returning to the capital to play for Chelsea in search of a fresh challenge. After being told he had no future at Stamford Bridge, Sterling left the Blues after experiencing varied degrees of success. However, his time in the capital has been even worse, as he has only contributed three goals in 20 appearances for Mikel Arteta’s team.
Romano: Sterling ‘Expectation’ Means Arsenal Loan Will End
The Gunners are likely to see Sterling depart at the end of the season
Romano wrote in his GIVEMESPORT newsletter that even though Sterling was a high-profile first-team player when he moved to the Emirates Stadium on loan back in August, he has flattered to deceive. As a result, it is expected that he will return to Chelsea at the end of his loan period in north London, as the club has decided not to make the move permanent.

As Romano put it:
It is anticipated that Sterling would return to Chelsea and not stay at Arsenal for the upcoming campaign if he performs well in the last months of the current campaign. That’s the obvious inside emotion.
Despite missing Christmas due to knee issues, Sterling was added to the starting line-up for the north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur in the middle of January. He has only made one more start against Leicester City, though, and even then, Arsenal only took the lead after he was replaced at the King Power Stadium. Since then, he has not impressed.
He has only made four starts in 11 Premier League appearances for the Gunners, and when the season ends, his time there will be all but over, particularly since Bukayo Saka is returning from injury and there are rumours that the team may try to sign someone like Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao.
It is still unclear where the winger’s future rests as he is currently out of favour under Enzo Maresca after the Italian labelled him surplus to requirements at the beginning of the season.
