West Brom have moved rapidly since the start of the transfer window.
The Baggies began their summer splurge under James Morrison with the signing of attacker Barney Stewart from Falkirk, and they also confirmed the signing of Liverpool defender Carter Pinnington, albeit the former Reds man will initially be placed in Albion’s U21 setup for development.
Later in the day, the Baggies announced the signing of promising Chelsea youngster Jimmy-Jay Morgan.
The England U20 international, like Stewart, has signed a four-year contract at The Hawthorns, with Albion paying an initial cost of £1.3 million, with add-ons worth up to £4 million.

Morgan is a good player who appears capable of making the step up to the Championship, especially after spending last season on loan at League One club Peterborough United, where he scored 14 goals.
The Baggies have now taken a chance on the versatile forward, who can play as a number nine, winger, or even an offensive midfield option.
Albion will be hoping he can be the man to provide another creative layer to the Baggies’ forward line, as the Black Country club must score goals on a regular basis if they are to launch a promotion bid this season.

After finishing his media obligations, Morgan moved to social media to express his joy at joining up at The Hawthorns, and an Albion fan and former Chelsea great have weighed in on the move.
Danny Imray and John Terry react to Jimmy-Jay Morgan’s West Brom transfer.

Jimmy-Jay Morgan took to Instagram and posted a picture of himself in West Brom’s training shirt, captioned ‘Proud. A new home. Let’s go!
As expected, the comments area has been flooded with good luck messages from former colleagues and renowned people.
Danny Imray, a fan favourite from last season, was among those to react, with many Baggies fans hoping the Crystal Palace defender will join the club permanently. At the end of last season, The Telegraph’s John Percy reported that one of Albion’s top priorities was bringing the 22-year-old back to The Hawthorns.
Imray responded with two blue hearts, as Albion supporters attempted to persuade him to return to the Black Country.
Meanwhile, Chelsea legend John Terry has left a remark under his article. Terry and Morgan know one other from Terry’s current part-time coaching consultant and mentor role in Chelsea’s academy, so the 45-year-old has seen Morgan progress through the junior system.

Terry replied, ‘Good luck, mate,’ followed by a blue heart, fist pump, and football emoji.
West Brom have made a solid start in the summer transfer window.

The bulk of West Brom fans may be in complete disbelief that the club moved so quickly at the start of a transfer window to sign three players.
However, James Morrison’s strategy is to get players in as soon as possible so they can settle in with a full pre-season and be ready for the start of the season.
Albion’s strategy is sound, and getting business done early will give them an advantage over most other Championship teams.
Of course, the Baggies still have a long way to go before their roster is ready for the onslaught of the 2026-27 season, with the team still in need of a fresh injection of creativity, namely on the flank, now that the club has released Jed Wallace and Karlan Grant’s future is uncertain.
Not to mention trying to reintroduce Danny Imray, who served as a second winger with his marauding offensive runs and lethal deliveries from outside.
However, it is a statement of intent by both the club and Morrison to already be getting down to business, with Albion fans hoping that this season will see them move up the Championship table and away from the dreadful relegation battle that they were embroiled in last season.
