Musiala suffered a severe leg injury during Saturday’s 2-0 Club World Cup loss against PSG for Bayern Munich.
After Gianluigi Donnarumma’s challenge caused Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala to suffer a catastrophic leg injury on Saturday, Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has spoken out.
In the Club World Cup quarterfinals on Saturday, PSG defeated Bayern Munich 2-0 thanks to goals from Desire Doue and Ousmane Dembele.
However, Musiala’s attempt to beat Donnarumma to the ball before the Italian goalie landed on the German’s leg, resulting in a catastrophic injury, overshadowed the game.
When Donnarumma saw the severity of the damage, she seemed emotional, but Musiala was clearly in pain.
Although Vincent Kompany, the head coach of Bayern, maintained that the incident was a “accident,” rival goalie Manuel Neuer was not so understanding.
“You don’t have to enter this situation like that; that’s reckless,” Neuer stated.

He is willing to take the chance of hurting his opponent. “Don’t you want to go to [check on] our player?” I asked him. Going over and wishing the man well is a matter of respect. Later, he did it. Fairness is always crucial. My response would have been different.
Max Eberl, sporting director of Bayern, went on: “There is a significant chance of something going wrong if I sprint and jump onto the shin weighing 100 kg.
“He didn’t care, but I don’t think he did it on purpose at all.”
However, following his team’s 3-2 victory over Borussia Dortmund later on Saturday, Courtois of Real Madrid jumped to Donnarumma’s defense.
“I said, ‘Oh, that’s ugly,’ when Musiala fell while my father and son were watching it,” Courtois remarked.

“I think it’s excessive to blame Donnarumma because, in the end, goalkeepers and strikers both go to the ball, and when we do, the strikers don’t check to see whether their feet touch our faces.
“Obviously, it hurts more since it’s your teammate, and you will criticize the opponent, but the behavior is not entirely preventable. Donnarumma had to venture outside.
Musiala is anticipated to be sidelined for at least four months due to a fractured fibula, according to an update released by The Athletic on Sunday morning.
