In advance of the summer transfer window, it has been reported that Marcus Rashford has reached a transfer agreement with Manchester United.
During the January transfer window, Rashford left Old Trafford for Aston Villa on loan after falling out of favour under Ruben Amorim. the move took place during the transfer window.
Although he is now 27 years old, the 27-year-old has shown signs of his former self ever since he moved to Villa Park to work under Unai Emery.
In a total of ten matches across all competitions, Rashford has contributed two goals and four assists and has scored two goals himself.
As a result of Rashford’s impressive performance, there are rumours that Villa may examine the possibility of converting his loan deal into a permanent transfer during the summer transfer window.
Rashford has the potential to join Villa in the summer for a fee of forty million pounds, as reported by the Daily Mail. However, it has been suggested that he could also join other clubs for a fee that is comparable to that of Villa.
In light of this, Villa’s plans could be derailed because they might be forced to engage in a bidding war with other parties who are interested.
The following is an excerpt from the report: “A striker is one of United’s priorities in the transfer market this summer, and they will try to fund a deal by offloading Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho.”
“Rashford has a £40m option in his loan deal at Aston Villa, and it’s understood he could join other clubs for a similar fee.”
After Rashford scored twice in the FA Cup match against Preston North End over the weekend, Villa manager Emery was questioned about whether or not a decision has been made regarding the forward’s future with the club.
“Not yet,” was his response. The most important thing here is the challenge that we are facing right now and this afternoon, which is to recover and then get ready for the match that will take place tomorrow against Brighton.
“Yet there are still a great deal of matches to be played. If we are competing in the Champions League, the Europa League, or the European Conference League, or if we are not competing in Europe or winning a trophy, then the situation is entirely different.
“A decision about each individual player… it is to get the best of them and the best of us,” Emery continued; “it is to get the best of us.” We don’t want to squander any time because we are considering it.
When they play Brighton and Hove Albion at the AMEX Stadium on Wednesday night, Villa will be back in action in the Premier League.
