6 Wolves players that will still leave by 11pm on September 1st have been revealed, with their futures at the club now under close scrutiny.

Wolves have not been as active as anticipated during the summer transfer window.

Kieran Trippier, Raul Jimenez, Rafiki Said, and Jordan James have all come, with Joao Gomes the only major Wolves player to leave.

Matt Doherty, Dan Bentley, and Tolo Arokodare have also departed the club, but the rebuild that fans expected in the Midlands has not materialised.

Cesar Peixoto’s side drew 2-2 with relegation-threatened Blackburn on the opening night, which could serve as a wake-up call moving into the final stretch of the transfer market.

With this in mind, Football League World looks at who could still go before the deadline of 11 p.m. on September 1st.

Hugo Bueno

Hugo Bueno was one of the few Wolves players that could stand tall last season.

Following in the footsteps of Rayan Ait-Nouri was always going to be difficult at Molineux, but Bueno did it in a friendly manner, ensuring that David Moller Wolfe could not regularly replace him in the team.

As a result, he has been linked with a move elsewhere this summer, with Mundo Deportivo reporting that Atletico Madrid is the most recent club to express interest in him.

Bueno missed Wolves’ first match of the season against Blackburn due to injury, and nothing implies he is looking to leave, but his future is far from guaranteed.

Hwang Hee-Chan

In comparison to Bueno, Hwang Hee-chan appears to be significantly closer to the exit.

Before the season began, The Telegraph stated that Wolves had made the South Korean international available for transfer, along with Boubacar Traore, Sasa Kalajdzic, and Ki-Jana Hoever.

Hwang joined Wolves from RB Leipzig in 2021, and while he has sparkled at times, he has struggled to maintain consistency in Old Gold.

Hwang, who is neither a natural striker nor a winger, has frequently required ideal conditions to succeed, which have been lacking in a Premier League team that is struggling.

As Wolves want to move on from that turbulent period, the 30-year-old is expected to depart sooner rather than later.

Sasa Kalajdzic

Given the trajectory of Sasa Kalajdzic’s career, it’s difficult not to feel sorry for him.

Following his departure from VfB Stuttgart in 2022, the towering Austrian was sidelined for the whole 2022/23 season after being forced off on his Wolves debut.

As a result, he has only made 16 appearances for Old Gold, scoring three goals, and sustained his third ACL injury during a 2024 loan spell at Eintracht Frankfurt.

He spent last season on loan at LASK, where he scored 18 goals as the club won both the league and the cup.

His return to fitness has put him in a better position, but he could be on his way out before the window closes.

Ki-jana Hoever

Ki-Jana Hoever, who returned to Molineux after a loan spell at Sheffield United, is another outsider, with little chance of making Peixoto’s squad.

Since joining Wolves from Liverpool in 2021, the right-back has struggled to find consistency, both as a player and on loan.

He is only 24, so his career is far from over, but he has yet to demonstrate that he is at the level required to flourish in the second tier, let alone for a team looking to make a fast comeback.

According to John Percy, he is anticipated to leave before the September 1st deadline, along with the other individuals stated above.

Boubacar Traore

Boubacar Traore, like many others on this list, has yet to make an impact at Molineux.

The midfielder joined from Metz in 2022 and has played just over 1,500 minutes in four years. He is expected to leave before the conclusion of the window.

According to Alan Nixon’s newest claims, this move might be within the Championship, with Portsmouth eyeing a move with recently promoted La Liga club Racing Santander, who visited Molineux for a friendly earlier this summer.

Wolves fans like the Mali international, but the club’s midfield has often been an issue in recent years, so Traore has simply struggled to obtain regular minutes when he is fit.

Enso Gonzalez

Enso Gonzalez joined Wolves in 2023 and has struggled with injuries while trying to establish himself at the senior level.

At 21, the Paraguayan could still have a promising career, despite making only one appearance for the Black Country’s senior team since his move in 2023.

He needs regular football, and a move away is likely to provide it, with the Express & Star suggesting that the winger could leave before the deadline.

The issue is what could have happened if Gonzalez had not suffered an ACL injury at the 2024 Olympics, but signing him will be the best option Wolves can make in the coming weeks.
