After being named West Bromwich Albion’s permanent manager, James Morrison will need to have a successful summer transfer window.
Morrison effectively maintained West Brom in the Championship after being appointed interim head coach, and he has been given a permanent deal at The Hawthorns.
The Baggies avoided the second-tier drop zone by four points, despite the EFL deducting two points as a penalty for breaking financial rules.
However, the Black Country club entered the season with Championship play-off ambitions, and Morrison will aim to oversee much greater stability next season.
West Bromwich Albion explained why they do not need to complete a free transfer agreement for ex-Rangers starlet.

West Brom’s volatility this season was exemplified by the dismissals of past head coaches Ryan Mason and Eric Ramsay.
Morrison can increase his prospects of enjoying a substantially longer management tenure at The Hawthorns by handling his transfer business correctly this summer.
West Brom are among the clubs interested in Leon King, who was released by Scottish Premiership giants Rangers after spending the season on loan at second-tier club Ayr United.
The Gers had previously rated King highly, and he has made 42 senior appearances for the club.
Football League World asked our Baggies fan analyst, Callum Burgess, whether he would welcome the prospective arrival of the 22-year-old or believes his club can aspire higher.
Burgess told FLW, “I don’t think Albion will need many recruits at centre-back this summer. Nat Phillips and George Campbell form a strong defensive partnership.Even if one of them leaves, it’s improbable, especially for Phillips and Campbell,
who may expect a significant return on their investment last summer. And we still have enough depth in that area. I believe that Scotland’s second tier is not the top level. “I don’t know much about him, despite his previous high ratings.”I can’t say whether he’s been spectacular at Ayr United, but I believe Albion should consider investing monies elsewhere.
West Brom may be better served by avoiding the Leon King trade.

West Brom finished the season on a down note, losing 2-1 to Sheffield Wednesday, the Owls’ only win of the Championship season.
However, before their defeat at Hillsborough Stadium, the Baggies went 10-games unbeaten, securing their second-tier status.
The Black Country club will hope to finish much closer to the Championship play-offs next season, which will necessitate a lot of work from Morrison and Co in the summer transfer window.
However, as Burgess mentioned, King may not be the best fit for West Brom, having lost his way as a Rangers player.
The 22-year-old has spent the season on loan at Ayr United, and there is a huge difference in quality between the Scottish Championship and its English counterpart.
As a result, the Baggies should not be interested in King, especially since they already have some strong defenders on their roster, such as the aforementioned Campbell and Phillips.
