Swansea City manager Vitor Matos acknowledged that talisman Zan Vipotnik’s future is still uncertain, despite the EFL transfer window closing, as other countries’ windows remain open.

The Swans have had an excellent start to the season in Matos’ first full year in charge, leading the Championship after four games and keeping three clean sheets in a row.

What’s more impressive is that they’re accomplishing it all without last season’s top scorer, Vipotnik, making a significant contribution. The Slovenian scored 23 goals last year, but has only started once in league play this season and has yet to appear on the scoring charts.

Adam Idah has been the main man called upon by Swansea’s head coach to lead the line, and he was involved in both goals in Tuesday’s 2-0 victory. With the Irishman leading the way and Vipotnik in reserve, Matos has a formidable striker core in South Wales.
