Norwich City are gearing up for their first full season under Philippe Clement, who hopes to build on the momentum he generated in the second half of the 2025/26 season at Carrow Road.
At the time of his appointment in November, the Canaries faced the prospect of being relegated to League One, but they were quickly able to climb the second tier standings from December onwards, despite losing former Championship goalscoring supremo Josh Sargent to Toronto FC in February.
The East Anglian team and Southampton were ultimately the two form sides in the league at the turn of the year, and they finished the season in ninth place, just eight points behind eventual play-off champions Hull.
Many have argued that the 2026/27 Championship season, on paper, is one of the strongest 24-team lineups the league has seen for some time, especially with the trio of West Ham United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Burnley being relegated from the Premier League.Norwich City are gearing up for their first full season under Philippe Clement, who hopes to build on the momentum he generated in the second half of the 2025/26 season at Carrow Road.

It has also been widely reported that the upcoming season will be even more intriguing as a result of an expanded play-off format, which will see teams from third to eighth place compete for eventual success at Wembley Stadium, as well as the newly implemented Squad Cost Rules, which limit clubs’ spending to 85% of their revenue.
As such, clubs like Norwich, under the ownership of Mark Attanasio, will hope to make the necessary squad changes through a savvy recruitment model.
And, with the summer transfer window looming large, a truth has emerged over heavy links with Leeds United’s Largie Ramazani.
Norwich City’s ‘interest’ in Leeds United winger Largie Ramazani exposed, as Valencia eye a permanent transfer

Ramazani is, of course, no stranger to the Championship in recent times, having won the division as part of Leeds United’s 2024/25 squad under former Norwich boss, Daniel Farke, who made it three second tier title wins for himself in the process after two successes on said front at Carrow Road.
The Whites paid a reported €11 million (£9.5 million) for his services in the summer of 2024 from Spanish club Almeria, and the winger signed a four-year contract.
Despite being seen as an early replacement for current West Ham and Netherlands international Crysencio Summerville, Ramazani has yet to fully demonstrate why Leeds paid the aforementioned eight-figure amount.
After scoring six goals in 29 Championship appearances, only seven of which came from the starting lineup, he moved on loan to La Liga club Valencia, where he scored six more goals and supplied an assist.
Yet, despite Norwich investing in Canadian winger, Ali Ahmed, in January, it was reported by the Pink’Un in late May that the 25-year-old could be a target to watch out for in the coming months.
However, as new allegations arose that Valencia CEO Ron Gourlay had flown to England to make offers on permanent transfers, including Ramazani, with Leeds reportedly seeking a £10 million fee, Chris Reeve of Talk Norwich City has added to the transfer controversy.
On Wednesday, June 3rd, he told X: “Understand that there are no links between Ramazani and Norwich City.

“One to cross off your list, yellows.”
Norwich City have been connected with new wing prospects amid Largie Ramazani’s clarification.

With Ramazani capable of playing on either flank, his versatility may have been a valuable addition to Clement’s team, but City fans will now hope the club can successfully make moves for other targets.
Although such speculation has died down in recent weeks, another dynamic winger associated with Norwich and Championship rivals Birmingham City is Israeli Liel Abada, who currently plays for MLS club Charlotte FC under another former Carrow Road manager, Dean Smith.
Abada is likely most known for his stint with Celtic, when he scored 29 goals and added 22 assists in 112 games.
As a result, with Clement of the same nationality as Ramazani and previous managerial experience in the Scottish Premiership with Rangers, even if links with his compatriot have been quashed, Norwich fans are likely to be encouraged by such links in terms of the club’s potential recruitment strategy.
