Swansea City have submitted a £2m offer to secure a forward, aiming to beat Manchester United and Aston Villa.

Swansea City ended the Championship season with a 3-1 home victory over Charlton Athletic.

The Welsh outfit finished 11th in the second division league, nine points behind sixth-place Hull City.

Vitor Matos will now focus on the summer ahead, as he prepares for his first pre-season as head coach of the first team.

The Portuguese coach took over the Swans in November, succeeding Alan Sheehan as manager.

The 38-year-old won 14 of his 31 games as manager, returning the team to 11th place from the previous season.

The club may now face a hectic summer transfer window as they seek to develop a team capable of closing the nine-point gap to the play-offs next season.

Swansea submit a bid for AIK star.

According to Swedish outlet Sportbladet, Swansea have made a 25 million Swedish kroner (£2 million) offer for attacker Kevin Filling.

It is understood that AIK rejected down the deal, and it is unknown whether the Championship club would pursue the 17-year-old again as the transfer market opens.

He has previously sparked interest from Manchester United, Aston Villa, and Borussia Dortmund.

RB Leipzig and VfB Stuttgart have also kept an eye on the teenager, who earned his Allsvenskan debut this season with AIK.

The forward is also on Newcastle United’s radar, but he is under contract with the Swedish club until 2028.

Swansea apparently made a bid for Filling many weeks ago, but it was refused.

The Welsh club is looking to improve its attacking options this summer, and the 17-year-old has emerged as a target.

If a deal is reached with AIK to recruit him, Swansea will have to wait until he reaches 18 before he can join the club due to new Brexit-related limitations on signing teenagers.

He will be 18 in November, so the January transfer window is the earliest possibility to secure his arrival, although a deal can be reached at any time.

Given the demand in his talents, a purchase this summer may put Swansea ahead of Aston Villa and Manchester United.

Swansea’s agreement for Kevin Filling may be fascinating.

Filling is only 17 years old, but he has already started in the Swedish top flight, making nine appearances in the 2025 season.

The 2026 season has only recently begun, but he has already appeared in five of AIK’s first six games, including one start.

So there is no doubt that he has a lot of potential, especially when he is attracting interest from such prestigious clubs around Europe.

His signing might be very beneficial to Swansea if they can reach an agreement with AIK, even if it means waiting a while to see him play for Matos’ team.
