Sport Republic ‘had to do something’ as Southampton’s reaction to a major transfer breakthrough emerges.

Southampton are prepared for another season in the Championship after being eliminated from the play-off final owing to the’spygate’ controversy.

Southampton stayed unbeaten in their final 19 regular season games to finish fourth in the Championship, and they advanced to the play-off final with a 2-1 aggregate win over Middlesbrough in their semi-final meeting.

However, the Saints were kicked out of the Wembley Cup and given a four-point deduction for next season after admitting to observing Boro’s training session ahead of the first leg at the Riverside Stadium, as well as spying on Oxford United and Ipswich Town earlier in the season.

While he may still face a ban while the FA does their investigation, Southampton owner Dragan Solak said this week that head coach Tonda Eckert has his full backing, and as they attempt to move on from the scandal, it appears the club may be ready to begin their summer transfer business.

According to the Southern Daily Echo, the Saints are in “advanced talks” to recruit Bayern Munich goalkeeper Daniel Peretz on a permanent basis, having spent the second part of last season on loan at St Mary’s.

Peretz preserved nine clean sheets in 26 appearances for Southampton after joining in January, and despite having other choices, it is understood that the 25-year-old has decided to return to the South Coast, with the club hoping to complete the transfer this week.

Sport Republic hailed as Southampton closes on Daniel Peretz deal.

When asked about Peretz’s return, FLW’s Southampton fan pundit, Louis Harris, stated that the deal was a statement of intent from the Saints and a necessary move by the club’s owners, Sport Republic, to regain support after the’spygate’ scandal.According to Louis, the club’s approach to signing Peretz on a permanent basis was tactical.Early action is necessary to demonstrate intent.”It prepares them well for the rest of summer.”Players who are considering moving away may look at it and conclude that it is not as horrible as we previously imagined.

“I think the club had to do something, not only for the players, but also for the fans as well.”Many disappointed supporters may be hesitant to renew their season tickets.”I think they need to make sure there’s some light at the end of the tunnel.Hopefully, this is the first step in the right direction, particularly with regard to the transfer window.

Southampton has hit the jackpot with the Daniel Peretz, Bayern Munich trade.

Southampton kept only four league clean sheets in the first half of the season, with Gavin Bazunu and Alex McCarthy in goal, but that number more than quadrupled once Peretz arrived, highlighting the significant impact he had at St Mary’s.

According to reports in Germany, the buy clause in Peretz’s loan agreement was worth £7 million, and while it is a significant figure to spend if that is what the Saints spent, he will be worth every cent if he helps the team return to the Premier League next season.

As they try to move on from the’spygate’ scandal, Southampton appear to be on the verge of reuniting with another of last season’s key loanees, Cyle Larin, with the South Coast club reportedly ready to sign the striker before the World Cup.
