According to German newspaper Kicker, Bayern Munich is open to selling Peretz permanently this summer, and the Saints are pleased with the shot stopper’s progress and want to keep him beyond his loan stay.

Prior to his departure to St. Mary’s, Peretz was a second-choice for the German giants, who are now eager to offload him from their first-team roster.

This should allow him to stay with Hampshire, with reports from Germany stating that the Championship outfit has a €8 million buy option that can be exercised.

This could also have an impact on Bazunu’s long-term career, since he has been sidelined with a thigh injury following only one game on loan for the Potters.

The Irishman’s contract with the Saints is slated to expire in June 2027, which means he is entering the final year of his current agreement following his £12 million move from Manchester City in 2022.

Meanwhile, Southampton is seventh in the Championship table after a 1-1 draw with West Brom on Wednesday evening.

The Saints drew within three points of sixth-placed Wrexham, who lost to Hull City on Tuesday night.

Eckert’s side will meet league leaders Coventry City at the CBS Arena on March 14 at 12.30pm.

Daniel Peretz’s permanent move is a no-brainer for Southampton.
