Sofyan Amrabat issues update on Man Utd transfer with secret clause set to be triggered

Sofyan Amrabat, a Manchester United loanee, has stated that he would like to remain at the team permanently, but it is unclear if that will happen.

It’s still unclear to Sofyan Amrabat whether Manchester United will make his loan transfer permanent.

Following months of speculation, the 27-year-old Morocco international signed a loan agreement with the Red Devils in the summer. As part of the deal, United and Fiorentina agreed to terms that include a £21 million option to sign the playmaker permanently.

Amrabat has played in 21 Premier League games for United this season, but only ten of those were starts. He may not return to Old Trafford next year, along with a number of other players.

Amrabat put on a strong performance in the FA Cup final as United defeated Manchester City 2-1 at Wembley, despite the uncertainty surrounding his future. However, after the game, he seemed unwilling to rule out a permanent transfer.

If that turns out to be the case, Amrabat's Fiorentina contract will be extended by one more year because of a covert provision that was negotiated before he moved to Old Trafford. According to a September report from the Italian publication Il Tirreno, Fiorentina demanded this clause to safeguard the midfield player's market value.

Amrabat continued by acknowledging that the initial phase of his loan, during which he temporarily filled in at left-back, was challenging before reiterating that transfer negotiations would soon begin. "That wasn't easy," he stated. I've always trained really hard and kept my cool. In the end, your patience has paid off.

"We'll have a conversation. Given that Manchester United is the largest football club in the world, who wouldn't want to play here? However, since everyone needs to get along, let's just sit down and watch what transpires."

When asked about his future plans in an interview with Ziggo Sport, Amrabat said, “Do I already know what I’m going to do next year? No. We are going to have a conversation.

“Remaining is undoubtedly an option. Let me tell you, this has been a really challenging season. It must be much better for Manchester United and for me personally.

With Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos in charge, Manchester United is anticipated to be active in the summer transfer window; however, current rumors suggest that the team is unlikely to pursue a long-term contract for Amrabat.
