Queens Park Rangers have confirmed that 5 players will leave the club, and the full list has been released.

The 2025/26 Championship season is drawing to an end, and teams will soon be appraising their out-of-contract players and determining who to offer extensions to.

Queens Park Rangers are expected to finish in the middle of the league once more, and next season will be their 12th consecutive season in the second tier. However, there is general optimism about the future of Loftus Road.

A busy summer transfer window last year, along with the major arrival of Ronnie Edwards midway through the season, suggests that the Hoops are prepared to go a little more youth-focused in the hopes of competing for a spot in the top eight next season.

With those new additions, few are expected to be out of contract at the end of the season, but decisions must be made concerning these five players.

Rhys Norrington-Davies – Loan

Rhys Norrington-Davies is the sole player currently on loan at QPR, and he will return to Sheffield United in the summer.

With his current Blades contract not slated to expire until 2027, he will at least be under contract at Bramall Lane next season, but the Sheffield Star reports that his parent club is open to him leaving permanently this summer.

The 15-cap Welsh international has had a much-needed injury-free season and will be eager to get started wherever his next move takes him, whether it’s to QPR permanently or somewhere else.

Steve Cooke

QPR have already stated that experienced centre-back Steve Cook will leave the club this summer.

The 35-year-old made his 100th and final appearance for the R’s against Swansea City last month, with the club stating that they will be “looking to the future” in the final few games of the season, and possibly beyond.

His time at Loftus Road may not be finished, however, as the club has reportedly offered him a coaching position for the future if he decides to put up his boots at the conclusion of the season.

Paul Nardi

QPR’s goalkeeper position has not been ideal this season, as the Hoops are among the lowest in the Championship in terms of goals conceded, but being in the top half in terms of projected goals conceded.

Paul Nardi has been in and out of the team all season, and he was completely out of it in 2026 until he returned in the penultimate game against Derby County.

Despite his return to the starting eleven, the 31-year-old will most likely be let go as the Hoops aim to freshen up the goalkeeper position ahead of next season.

Ben Hamer

After Joe Walsh suffered a broken wrist in September, veteran shot-stopper Ben Hamer was brought in to provide backup in goal.

The 38-year-old initially signed a short-term contract, which was extended in January with another short-term contract, most likely until the conclusion of the season, though the club’s announcement makes this unclear.

Despite how beneficial it will have been to having such a veteran leader in the group, particularly to assist guide 24-year-old Walsh through what has been a difficult year, it would be surprising to see Hamer’s playing contract extended at the conclusion of the season.

Isaac Hayden

Isaac Hayden returned to QPR this summer after leaving Newcastle United. He spent the second half of the 2023/24 season at Loftus Road and has been equally important in the engine room this season.

With Jonathan Varane and Nicolas Madsen developing in the heart of the Hoops’ midfield this season, the 31-year-old has struggled to get regular starts, but he’s shown to be an excellent alternative when either is injured.

The final few months of the season have seen 20-year-old Kieran Morgan step up to be the first backup in the midfield, but with Cook’s departure attributed to the club “looking to the future,” perhaps the same thought process may deny Hayden an extension this summer.
