Lancashire police have issued a caution to Blackburn Rovers fans ahead of next month’s game against Burnley.
Rovers travel to Turf Moor on Sunday, November 22nd, for the first meeting between the East Lancashire rivals this season, as well as the first in two seasons following the Clarets’ brief Premier League run.
Of course, Blackburn will be bringing a strong presence, with the game being the first earmarked by fans when the schedule is announced during the summer.
However, with the match only a month away, Lancashire Police have issued a message to Rovers supporters in particular.
A travel warning has been issued as part of the Blackburn strategy. Burnley trip

Rovers Police issued a statement on X warning supporters that engineering work will disrupt regular train services between Blackburn and Burnley on the day of the match.
The note said, “The East Lancashire Derby is quickly coming!! Please note that there will be no trains from Blackburn to Burnley on the day of the game due to railway engineering works. If this was going to be your mode of transportation, please make alternative arrangements.”
A follow-up article would also address coach travel, saying: “If you are planning on organising a coach to the game, please email me with the information of your coach company, organiser, and pick-up location.”
National Rail confirms replacement buses for Burnley and Blackburn

According to the National Rail website, all lines between Blackburn and Colne, as well as Burnley Manchester Road, will be blocked.
However, substitute buses will run between the two locations, though fans have been told that vehicles may be busier than usual, so leave additional time when commuting.
The sides drew 1-1 at Turf Moor in 2024, with Andi Weimann scoring for Rovers.
This time, the visitors hope to inflict even more pain on their opponents, who have had a poor start to the 2026/27 season.
Blackburn will be scent blood as the Derby approaches.

The hopes around both clubs entering into the season could not have been more different, with Burnley seeking a promotion challenge and Blackburn simply looking to survive.
However, things have not gone as planned, with Rovers starting well under returning boss Tony Mowbray, while Burnley manager Nicky Hayen is under fire following the recent loss to Wolves.
Stat
Burnley
Blackburn Rovers are currently ranked 22nd and 10th, with 1 win, 5 draws, and 4 losses. They have scored 16 goals and conceded 21 goals. However, there is a tense atmosphere at Burnley, with fans calling for the departure of chairman Alan Pace, who is being praised.
While a lot can change in a month, the present trend points to Blackburn being the favourites for the derby, possibly even scent blood as a result of the events at Turf Moor.
The fans have turned, and the climate will only become more toxic if things do not improve, and it may well boil over if Rovers turn up and win on Derby Day.
