Pint of Beer Prices for All 20 Premier League Clubs

Summary
West Ham is the home of the most expensive pint in the Premier League.
Arsenal drops to second place after previously being first.
Manchester United charge the least, with pints costing just £3 at Old Trafford.
Many matchgoers believe that three important characteristics are required to create the ideal football experience. The first is what happens on the pitch. Ideally, you want to see your team pick up all three points, but as the demand for a quality performance increases, supporters have an expectation to at least be entertained. Then there’s the food. Whether it’s burgers or pies, the culinary experience can be just as important as the 90-minute event itself.

Finally, for those who can drink it, enjoying an ice-cold pint is a top priority. However, in some Premier League stadiums, this luxury can be quite expensive. Thanks to OLBG, we now know just how much the price of a pint is at every Premier League stadium, with one title challenger almost topping the list at more than double the cost of the cheapest drink.

West Ham Home to the Most Expensive Pint

Arsenal are closely behind in second

It is common knowledge that most goods are more expensive in London. Properties. Day trips. Also pints. As a result, it comes as no surprise that the two clubs with the highest premium prices are located in the neighbourhood. Arsenal and West Ham believe it is fair to charge their fans the highest prices of any club, with the Hammers charging £7.30 and the Gunners charging £6.35.

The Emirates offers either a Budweiser or a Camden’s Ale, whereas the London Stadium offers a pint of Fosters for the lowest price. Given that neither side appears to be struggling financially, as evidenced by the £100 million swap between the two teams in exchange for Declan Rice, the prices appear to be a little high and will only be considered acceptable if both teams can finally sign a striker capable of helping them progress.

Manchester United the Cheapest Option

The 20-time English Champions show good value for money

Cheap is frequently used to describe Manchester United, or more specifically the Glazer family, in a negative light. Because of the inability to spend in repairing a leaky stadium, it is now considered more financially prudent to construct an entirely new home rather than renovate the old Theatre of Dreams.

Perhaps to compensate for the dismal conditions at Old Trafford, the Red Devils can proudly boast that they are the only provider of the cheapest pint in the Premier League. For just £3, fans can grab a bottle of Carling to whet their appetite before what is typically an unpredictable event under Ruben Amorim.

The reduced costs went into effect in 2021 after members of the Manchester United Supporters Trust communicated directly with the club following complaints of how much fans were paid in a pre-season friendly against Brentford. The supporters trust issued the following statement to announce the news:

“We’re glad they listened and reconsidered the cost for the 21/22 season. This is another positive step towards putting fans first. Congratulations to the club for listening and agreeing to this.”

Given the recent cost-cutting initiatives at Old Trafford and the mid-season increase in season ticket prices that sparked fan complaints, don’t be shocked if lager-related inflation occurs at the Theatre of Dreams in the near future.

Liverpool and recently promoted Ipswich Town are just 30p and 50p ahead of United, respectively. Despite returning to the top flight, the Tractor Boys have kept the cost of a pint at the Championship level, charging only £3.50.

Leicester Charging High Prices

The likes of Man City and Liverpool are in the bottom half of the table

While Kieran McKenna’s side keeps prices low, another freshly promoted team has taken the opposite approach, with Leicester City sitting joint third in the pint price rankings, charging an astonishing £5.80. The Midlands outfit is ranked alongside Fulham and ahead of more southern clubs such as Chelsea, Southampton, Brentford, and Tottenham, all of whom are in the top ten. Crystal Palace also appears prominently in 11th.

In the bottom half of the table, Premier League champions Manchester City may be seen selling drinks for as cheap as £4.60. It is unclear whether this will change to meet the costs of Erling Haaland’s huge contract.

The other four, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United, two seaside clubs in Brighton and Bournemouth, and Everton, are all more than £4 but remain among the division’s cheapest options.
