Mohamed Salah has come under fire from Ally McCoist for venting his resentment at Jurgen Klopp outside of the locker room during Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with West Ham instead of in the changing room.

The entire game, Klopp looked frustrated from the sidelines as the Reds’ chances of winning the Premier League were severely damaged. And when Salah and Klopp had a disagreement, tensions increased.

Salah made an irate gesture in front of his manager, and teammate Darwin Nunez had to hold him back. Salah issued a stern warning and acknowledged, “If I speak, there will be fire,” while Klopp declined to elaborate on the incident but acknowledged that they had spoken about it.

Additionally, former Rangers forward McCoist offered his thoughts on the matter following the game, criticizing Salah’s handling of the incident. He stated to TNT Sports: “[It was] Not good at all, especially when you see Salah returning for another bite and then having to be stopped by a teammate.”

“We’ve both experienced it in changing rooms. There are cross-words and you disagree with the manager’s statement, but it doesn’t look good. Things like that belong behind closed doors.”

Salah may depart the Reds this summer due to his recent struggles with form. With just over a year remaining on his deal, the 31-year-old, who has only scored once in his last six Premier League games, is still under contract.

Regarding Salah, McCoist stated: “Yes, [I believe he will be departing].” He has been nothing short of extraordinary for Liverpool, easily one of the best players we have seen in this league. However, I don’t think anyone can dispute that his form has declined, and it seems to me that he might be moving.

It could be one of those lucky breaks where everyone wins. Mo Salah may be better off moving on, and Liverpool may be better off reinvesting the money they receive from him.”

Liverpool is still in third place in the Premier League standings, but they are two points behind leaders Arsenal and one point behind second-place Manchester City. While the Gunners have also played one fewer game, City has two games in hand.

During his press conference, Klopp responded, “I don’t really think about it,” when asked about the title race. As I previously stated, we must win our games. The game was not won by us. That doesn’t significantly improve our current circumstances. Do Arsenal and Manchester City seem like they will drop two or three games?

“No, I don’t believe so, but to be honest, I’m not upset or anything. I don’t give it any thought. All we need to do is win football games; the rest will take care of itself. What do we currently possess? 75 points, huh? 84 [are] feasible, and I believe it would be wise to aim for that.”
