Birmingham City are allegedly still open to selling German striker Marvin Ducksch ahead of next Tuesday’s summer transfer deadline.

According to Sky Germany, the 32-year-old is still coveted by clubs in his own country, but he has turned down offers from MLS teams since his immediate future remains uncertain.

Birmingham have just beginning their third season under Chris Davies’ direction, and they will be hoping for a better performance in the Championship this season after a mediocre 2025/26.

The Second City outfit spent extensively in both transfer windows last season, but lacked the consistency needed to compete for a play-off spot, and they look to have changed their strategy in this summer’s market.

Only a few incomings and outgoings have been sanctioned thus far, and the team has had a poor start to the league season, drawing against Sheffield United and Bristol City.

However, Ducksch has not been extensively featured in the first two weeks of the competitive season, and there is still intense curiosity about his next career move, despite signing from Werder Bremen in a high-profile deal just 12 months ago.

A non-promotion release clause of €1 million was subsequently reportedly added to his contract, while it was also alleged last month that Ducksch intends to take on a sporting director post at a new club, and that Birmingham would not stand in the way of the forward’s departure.
