Leicester City chairman has released a statement following the club’s confirmed relegation from the Championship.

The chairman has commented following a 2-2 draw with Hull that saw the club fall into League One for only the second time in their history.

Leicester City chairman Aiyawatt ‘Top’ Srivaddhanaprabha has stated that the club’s relegation to League One “sits with me”.

The chairman issued a statement following Tuesday night’s 2-2 draw with Hull, confirming the club’s relegation to the third division for only the second time in its existence.

Top apologized for the club’s downfall and stated that the club will now make “necessary decisions,” without specifying what those decisions may be.

The announcement reads: “To our fans, relegation to League One has been confirmed. As chairman, that is my obligation. There are no excuses.

“We’ve had the highest highs and now the lowest lows, and the suffering is felt by all.

“I sincerely apologize for the disappointment we caused. I recognize the intensity of feeling among our supporters, and we do not take it for granted, especially at times like this.

“We’re now focused on what comes next. We will make the essential decisions to bring the club ahead, working together to rebuild, improve, and restore the standards that are expected of Leicester City.

“Our goal is clear: respond forcefully and compete to propel this club ahead again.

“We’ll meet it head on. We’ll keep going. Together. Top.”

Fans yelled for the board to be fired during the 90-minute game, and protests lasted more than an hour outside the King Power Stadium’s receiving area afterward.
