Paul Scholes, a former Premier League champion, quickly removed remarks criticizing Kobbie Mainoo, a young player for Manchester United who has established himself in the starting lineup this season.

Although Kobbie Mainoo received criticism from Paul Scholes, a former Manchester United player, it is evident how the young player feels about winning both the Premier League and the Champions League.

After criticizing Mainoo and teammate Alejandro Garnacho for their training ground attire, Scholes quickly deleted an offensive Instagram story. “Don’t mind hats and gloves but no way can you train properly with your hood up… standards begin on the training pitch… bye!” said the 49-year-old.

At the end of the 2012–13 season, Mainoo was just eight years old when Scholes made his final appearance for United. Scholes, who attended the academy himself, won the Premier League eleven times and was a part of the teams that won the Champions League in 1999 and 2008.

Mainoo may not have been born when some of Scholes’ best moments occurred, but the adolescent has seen enough of the former England international. And he made this apparent when praising his countryman during a Q&A session with fans.

Mainoo named Scholes as his ideal midfield partner when asked. He was aware that the star’s natural tendency to attack could cause problems in the dream sequence, though.

He laughed and said, “I’d say Paul Scholes, although there might not be a lot of defending happening between the two of us!” “Yeah, but Scholes. Scholes, without a doubt.”

“Everything,” he replied when asked what he liked best about Scholes’ game. His departure, his gait, his ability to close. Yes, his intelligence made him a fantastic player.

In recent weeks, Scholes hasn’t been the only champion to criticize Mainoo. The young player responded to former United captain Gary Neville’s criticism of his first-half performance against Liverpool in the best way possible.

Neville said, “Look where Mainoo is there, he’s ahead of the ball on a throw-in,” during the 2-2 draw that was televised on Sky Sports. Bruno Fernandes had to run back, which is something I always think about in a central midfield player.

“Don’t be ahead of the ball, forget about [Alexis] Mac Allister, and forget about that [man-marking system]. It’s always possible to reach that one. It’s the fundamentals of the game, but he’s moving up there now, defying logic.”

At the time, United was behind 1-0, but Fernandes pulled one back for equality before Mainoo curled home to give Erik ten Hag’s team the lead. Although they were unable to hold on for the win, Neville thought highly of Mainoo’s goal.

“This game is absolutely mad, Manchester United from nowhere, but it is a thing of absolute beauty from Kobbie Mainoo,” Neville stated. “He sets it out perfectly into that far corner, sets it up with his left foot, strikes it with his right, and the crowd have gone absolutely wild.”
