After a horrific era, it appears that Sheffield Wednesday may be in for some good news as Arise Capital Partners nears completion of their ownership of the club.
Over six months after former owner Dejphon Chansiri’s departure in October, Wednesday remains in administration, and it has been a nightmarish season on the pitch, with the South Yorkshire club suffering the quickest relegation in English football history when their destiny was sealed in February.
It appeared like James Bord’s consortium was in pole position to buy the club, but they withdrew from the acquisition process in February, allowing Arise — managed by David Storch — to be granted preferred bidder status the following month.
Storch had set a deadline of May 1st to complete his takeover of the Owls, but fears arose that the American businessman would walk away from the deal after releasing a statement on social media last month criticising the EFL’s plans to impose a 15-point deduction on the club next season, with which he claimed he and his business partners “fundamentally disagree”.
While it is uncertain whether Wednesday will avoid a points punishment, significant work has been made in recent days, and Storch appears to be on track to fulfill his deadline, with a source informing The Star that the transaction is “basically done”.
With attorneys working through the night to finalize the necessary paperwork, an announcement is expected soon, and Storch, along with his son Michael and fellow consortium member Tom Costin, will be present for Saturday’s game against West Bromwich Albion.
Henrik Pedersen makes exciting Sheffield Wednesday takeover announcement.

Despite winning only one of his 49 games in charge, Wednesday manager Henrik Pedersen is expected to return next season, and it appears the Dane has already developed a good bond with the club’s new owners.
A sell-out crowd will attend Hillsborough for the Championship season’s final game against West Brom on Saturday. Pedersen is optimistic that the takeover will be completed before kick-off, with Owls supporters hoping for a new era.You can tell where we’re going because everyone is asking,
“When will it happen?” When will it happen? “We are excited to start rebuilding Sheffield Wednesday,” Pedersen told The Star.So there is a lot of wonderful energy surrounding it. The legal process is now underway, but we are certain that it will be completed before the game.
Of course, it has been a difficult time for the players, the staff, the employees, the supporters, and everyone else who cares about Sheffield Wednesday, no matter how small or large. We are excited about the newcomers, David, Michael, and Tom.
Sheffield Wednesday fans should be optimistic as the David Storch takeover near.

As the Championship season comes to a close, Wednesday will be looking to win their first home game of the season against West Brom and move to zero points, but Saturday’s game will be about far more than what happens on the pitch.
It has been a dreadful period for Owls fans, and there have been occasions over the last year when it appeared that the club’s future was in jeopardy, but a bright new era may be ahead under Arise’s management.
Storch has certainly made a positive early impression on Wednesday fans in recent weeks with his open and honest social media communication, as well as outlining plans to return to the popular old badge, and while he will ultimately be judged on results, it appears that the club is in good hands moving forward.
