Harry Kane has completed another club season, but he has yet to win a trophy after Real Madrid defeated Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Wednesday night at the Santiago Bernabeu, the German team suffered a crushing defeat as Joselu’s late double sent Los Blancos back to the final of Europe’s premier competition. The visitors were ecstatic after Alphonso Davies’ goal in the 68th minute, but Carlo Ancelotti’s team narrowly beat the clock to deal a devastating blow.

After coming on in the 85th minute, Kane was left to watch from the sidelines. The England captain could only watch in agony from the dugout as former Stoke forward Joselu scored twice, and Matthijs de Ligt’s attempt for the German titans was called back due to offside.

It was anticipated that Kane’s £86.4 million move from Tottenham to the Allianz Arena would end his trophy drought. But Real Madrid has teamed up with a Bayer Leverkusen team that is poised to win the Bundesliga to make sure he doesn’t have any club success.

As his team lost, the striker’s face was a picture of desperation. According to the Mirror, Kane’s only options were to let his arm drop, place his forehead on the seat in front of him, and avert his eyes.

Thomas Tuchel, the manager of Bayern Munich, defended Kane’s decisions after the game, despite the player’s obvious desire to affect the final seconds of the match. Tuchel discussed the loss in his DAZN interview, saying, “It hurts.” Though we gave it our all on the field, it’s a loss nonetheless, and it will take some time to heal.

Naturally, it’s difficult to accept. It is a fact of life. I have no regrets. On the other hand, there were an excessive number of cramps, injuries, and substitutions.

“At the end, all four of our starting players had left the field. Subsequently, Manu, who had shown remarkable bravery in rescuing us throughout the night, committed an error he would never make again.”
