The fox is “too passive.”
After their defeat at the hands of West Ham, Ruud van Nistelrooy is of the opinion that his team gave up “easy goals.”
On Thursday night, Leicester continued to be five points away from safety after suffering a defeat at the London Stadium by a score of 2-0.
Taking into account the outcome, Van Nistelrooy’s team has only managed to win one of their previous twelve Premier League matches.
“The goals you concede are easy goals,” the Foxes manager admitted in an interview with TNT Sports after the team’s loss. The manner in which we performed in the first half is reflected in this.
In the first half, we were waiting for a much longer period of time than we should have been. If you look at the difference between the first and second halves, you will notice that our team moved forward to press the opponent and play with urgency after winning duels.
“We have to put the opponent under pressure in the right way.”
Regarding the lack of intensity displayed by his team during the first half, he continued by saying, “We were way too passive.”
We are currently in a situation in which we are not winning games, and we are currently in a situation in which we are competing in the bottom three. There is a lot of pressure.
The only way to get out of this situation is to make progress, not only on the pitch but also in the real world.
When we are in a one-on-one situation, it does not mean that you are required to go and press, but we are required to take the initiative. We are unable to wait and take it easy. The situation that we are in is exactly that.
The Hammers sail by the Foxes.
At the London Stadium, West Ham defeated Leicester by a score of 2-0, allowing them to walk away with the victory.
The home team was able to secure all three points thanks to goals scored by Tomas Soucek and Jarrod Bowen in the first half.
The team managed by Graham Potter has now climbed back up to 15th place in the Premier League, passing Everton in the process.
The Foxes, on the other hand, are still in 19th place and five points away from safety.
As his winless streak now reaches four matches, Ruud van Nistelrooy continues to wait for a third league victory in charge of the team.
In point of fact, Leicester have only won one of their thirteen league games since he took over as manager at the beginning of the season, which was a victory over West Ham.
The Foxes are going to have a challenging run of upcoming matches, with Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City, Newcastle, Brighton, and Liverpool coming up in their next six matches.
While this is going on, West Ham will be looking to make it three wins in a row when they play Newcastle at home on September 10.
