Everton youngster Harrison Armstrong excelled on loan with Preston North End during the 2025/26 season, and the Lancashire club would love to have his services again next season.
The Toffees recalled the midfielder in January, and he concluded the season with 13 Premier League games.
Armstrong played 17 Championship games for North End, scoring one goal and assisting once, and helped the Lancashire club develop play-off credentials.
However, Preston finished 14th in the second division due to poor form in the second half of the season, and Armstrong’s departure contributed to their drop down the table.
Everton’s transfer news will send Harrison Armstrong down the pecking order; Preston North End must pounce.

Everton’s transfer news will send Harrison Armstrong down the pecking order; Preston North End must pounce.
Armstrong is a flexible player who can play in both deeper midfield and on the wing, although Moyes has good options in all of Armstrong’s possible places, including Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Carlos Alcaraz, and James Garner.
If the Toffees sign Hackney, the former Preston loan star would face increased competition in his natural position and may have to leave the Hill Dickinson Stadium for regular game time.
Preston can experience massive transfer success if they land Alfie Devine and Harrison Armstrong’s moves.

Devine scored eight goals and provided six assists while on loan with Preston in the Championship, so it’s no surprise that the Lancashire club is willing to break their transfer record to sign him permanently.
On April 25, he showcased his creative edge by assisting twice in North End’s 3-2 victory over Sheffield United.
Signing the 21-year-old on a permanent basis, despite competition from Wolves and Celtic, would be Heckingbottom’s best start to the summer transfer window.
If North End signs Armstrong on loan from Everton again, they would have one of the greatest midfield duos in the second tier, which will increase their chances of making the playoffs.
As previously said, if Hackney agrees to terms with Moyes’ team, Armstrong’s chances of securing another loan move improve dramatically.
