Breaking News: Pep Guardiola has finally shares failed bid for Rodri replacement who rejected Man City over weather

Pep Guardiola has acknowledged that he attempted to sign a replacement for Rodri this month but was unsuccessful.

Pep Guardiola has talked candidly about his unsuccessful attempt to persuade Sergio Busquets to sign with Manchester City, as the Spanish midfielder chose to enjoy Miami’s beautiful weather rather than prepare for Manchester’s rainstorms.

As a replacement for injured Ballon d’Or winner Rodri, the City management had planned to sign Busquets, but the Inter Miami star turned down the opportunity to sign a short-term contract.

“No – because he is so happy in Miami,” explained Guardiola, who played a key role in Busquets’ ascent at Barcelona. There is such lovely weather! I talked to Sergio a lot, a lot, a lot—not about that problem. I’ve been in contact with you for a long time because we share an agent.”

Since Rodri is recuperating from an injury sustained against Arsenal in September of last year, City is still searching for midfield coverage in a competitive market where possible additions like Ederson of Atalanta have high asking prices of £50 million and others like Douglas Luiz require intricate loan-to-buy agreements.

In a nutshell, Guardiola stated: “There are players who can do it, but teams don’t sell them or they are very costly.

We can’t do it, although we considered it because Kova and Gundo are assisting us, but they aren’t suitable holding midfielders. We are appreciative of their amazing efforts because we are aware of that.

“I know the guys who have stepped up to try and fix our problems with dedication and effort on several occasions during difficult periods. I am really appreciative of some of them because of this.
