The De Bruyne contract position
According to the Times, Kevin De Bruyne is “open” to extending his current contract at City but is of interest to clubs in Saudi Arabia this summer.
The midfielder has played a major role in City’s recent dominance under Pep Guardiola. Next season’s end marks the expiration of his current contract.
He was limited to just 15 Premier League starts this season due to a hamstring issue. Nevertheless, he was able to muster 10 assists and 4 goals.
According to MEN Sport, De Bruyne’s injury issues should be resolved by next season, which will be concerning for the teams trying to unseat City. The player’s desire to join the Saudi Pro League is lacking.
For City, that can only mean good news. Since moving to the Etihad Stadium in 2015, he has made a significant impact in many games, and it appears that he will continue to do so for at least another year.
The dilemma of Kalvin Phillips
Due to Leeds United’s inability to get promoted back to the Premier League, City has lost another possible suitor for Kalvin Phillips this summer.
