Pep Guardiola is all praise for Chelsea’s incredible star, saying things like, “He’s too good to be playing for a small club like Chelsea, I’ve never seen a player with his type of confidence level, he should come to Man City and win trophies.”
Cole Palmer is getting a lot of praise from Pep Guardiola, and Jack Grealish won’t play for Manchester City against Chelsea on Saturday.
The England winger will not play this weekend at the Etihad due to a groin injury he sustained during City’s Champions League victory over FC Copenhagen on Tuesday. The manager of City, Pep Guardiola, claims he is still unsure of the full severity of Grealish’s injury.
The 28-year-old is not expected to play against Chelsea, according to Guardiola, even though it is unclear how long he will need to heal. “Jack won’t be ready,” he remarked. I have no idea how long he will be gone. I did not speak with the physicians. All I know is that he’s not going to be around tomorrow.
Palmer, Grealish’s English teammate, rejoins his old team. The former Manchester United player moved to Stamford Bridge in August of last year, and he has established himself at Chelsea thus far this season.
Guardiola expressed his satisfaction with Palmer’s accomplishments and expressed respect for Palmer’s decision to withdraw from the winning City team from the previous season. “Of course we’re happy for him,” Guardiola remarked. “He’s a fantastic young man who played a key role in our success.”
We had no doubts about his excellence. With the way he plays right now, he is a star player. He’s already a very talented player. He continued to get his leftover minutes. He has shown that it was only a matter of time.
In their November match, Chelsea and City drew 4–4 thanks to a Palmer late penalty. “It’s an amazing team in every way; this is one of the hardest games we have until the end of the season,” Guardiola said, praising the Blues.
“Recently, they have been playing really well. They possess every quality and intensity level. Actually losing the ball is rare, and most teams are characterized by their inability to give it away. It’s going to be difficult tomorrow with this strong team.
For the fourth consecutive season, City is competing against rivals Arsenal and Liverpool for the league title. “We will see how many teams will be involved,” Guardiola said in reference to the final eight or ten games.
“I believe these three will occur, but the gap between the fourth and the fifth is also quite small.” As long as we win our games, it doesn’t matter if there are two, three, or four. It matters only that we perform well and win our games.
Additional player updates consist of the following: Mateo Kovacic can now be chosen, and following his ankle injury in Denmark, Bernardo Silva’s status will be evaluated.
