It’s unlikely that Jurgen Klopp will be the only well-known person departing Liverpool this summer; several players are anticipated to follow him out the door. At the end of the current campaign, the nine-year Reds manager will step down and be replaced by Arne Slot, the manager of Feyenoord.

Even though Liverpool has already taken steps to find Klopp’s replacement, they still need to make other moves to replace players who may leave in the summer. Over the next few weeks, they may lose as many as five members of the squad, with three of them having their contracts expire.

Joel Matip’s current contract is almost up, but Liverpool hasn’t extended an offer to him. He arrived at Anfield in 2016 on a free transfer and has since won everything there is to win, but it appears that he won’t be playing for them again the following season.

Adrian, the veteran goalkeeper, has not played in a competitive game for Liverpool this season and it appears that he will leave when his contract expires in the summer. He may still receive an offer for a new contract, but any progress in that regard will be contingent upon the desires of the soon-to-be boss, Slot.

Thiago Alcantara appears to be at the end of his road, as it is highly unlikely that he will receive new terms in the upcoming weeks. Despite a warm welcome upon his arrival in 2020, he has fallen short of expectations, primarily due to a never-ending string of injury setbacks.

A few players whose contracts expire at the end of this season may also be let go by Liverpool. It wouldn’t be shocking to see Nathaniel Phillips leave Anfield permanently after multiple loan stints, as he has made no secret of his desire to play regular football.

Caoimhin Kelleher, the team’s backup goalie, can be persuaded to leave in an attempt to secure a starting position elsewhere. The Daily Mail claims that Nottingham Forest and Celtic are showing interest in the Irishman, who is obviously talented enough to play at a high level.

Although Kelleher’s departure is not guaranteed, it is unclear if he will be amenable to continuing to be Alisson Becker’s backup for another season. Although Klopp thinks highly of him and his contract is set to expire in 2026, Slot may choose to cash in if the right offer is put forth.
