Alejandro Garnacho’s Social Media Activity Causes Stir After Man Utd 3-2 Ipswich

At a rainy Old Trafford, Ruben Amorim’s team beat relegation-threatened Ipswich Town 3–2. But Alejandro Garnacho’s social media post after the game, after being removed in the first half, caused a lot of anger.

When Darren England blew the whistle on Wednesday night, everyone linked with Manchester United would have breathed a sigh of relief. The Red Devils had come back from being behind in just four minutes to win a crucial three points.

Amorim’s team got ahead thanks to an own goal by Sam Morsy and Matthijs de Ligt’s second goal of the season. But things changed when Patrick Dorgu was sent off for a dangerous charge on Omari Hutchinson, who used to play for Arsenal and Chelsea.

Garnacho was picked to be Amorim’s sacrificed lamb so that the defence would stay strong against the Tractor Boys. The star from Madrid, who is seen by many as one of the best young football players in the world, was replaced by Noussair Mazraoui.

After coming on as a substitute just before halftime, Garnacho bowed to Manchester United’s head coach and walked straight down the Old Trafford tunnel. Amorim said he would try to talk to the young player by saying:

Of course, I’m going to talk to Garnacho about that. If you want, I can talk about that at the next press meeting.

When asked about Garnacho’s controversial choice to go down the tunnel, Amorim asked, “Are you telling Rashford something?” Maybe it was cold and wet?” until they gave a couple of reasons why the switch was made.

“We thought we’d play more in the 5-3-1.” I know it’s risky because you’re putting one player against one pace, but I thought the team was doing a good job of controlling the game. When it’s almost halftime, you make the change.

“We had to pick someone to go out, and we had to think about set pieces as well, so Garnacho it was,” the 40-year-old coach, who used to win a lot with Sporting CP, said.

A few hours after getting three points at home, Garnacho went on social media. There was no caption with the picture, as you can see below. Instead of a message of support or praise for his team’s 10-man effort, one was posted.

Old Trafford fans are not happy with how much or how little he supports his teammates. One fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “I don’t care how good you are or if you graduated from the academy. Get rotten players like this out of the club.”

Another fan brought up the fact that Amorim’s team won at the Theatre of Dreams, even though they had fewer players on the pitch after Dorgu’s second red card of the season. This was said to boost confidence.

What’s the point of putting this when your team just beat the other team hard with 10 men? Shouldn’t that be the most important thing?

“His ego is bigger than his skills; get rid of him in the summer.” One fan wrote, and another said that the summer trade window would be a great time to get rid of him at Old Trafford. “Get this diva out of this club.”
