Ipswich Town have launched a £14 million offer for Sunderland’s Wilson Isidor, hoping to beat West Ham and Hull to the striker’s signature.

The Haiti international has impressed for the Black Cats after joining on an initial loan from Zenit, scoring twice as Regis Le Bris’ team achieved promotion to the Premier League in the 2024/25 season.

However, while Sunderland had a terrific comeback to the top division, Isidor found it more difficult as Brian Brobbey took over as the key man up top.

As a result, he has spent the majority of his time on the bench, raising concerns about his future in the coming season, even though Sunderland will play more games owing to their inclusion in Europe.

However, it appears they will face a significant battle to bring Isidor in, as Sun journalist Alan Nixon has claimed that Ipswich are pressing forward to sign the attacker.

He says that they have bid around £14 million for Isidor, which is £2 million more than Hull has offered for the player.

Interestingly, it has been reported that West Ham could put a greater deal on the table for Sunderland, but it will contain add-ons contingent on the club gaining promotion, and they will also face a battle to persuade Isidor to move to the Championship.

West Ham must bring in attacking reinforcements during this transfer window.

It was never going to be easy for West Ham to sign Isidor since he is a talented player who would always be in demand in the Premier League.

However, given the project at West Ham and the club’s magnitude, it is far from likely that he will not join the Irons.

Even after the 3-1 EFL Cup victory over Portsmouth, Nuno will be fully aware that the club lacks both numbers and quality in attack.

Of course, Jarrod Bowen is a fantastic player, and Taty Castellanos will be huge if he stays with the club, but there isn’t much else on the roster, as Pablo has struggled since his arrival.

So, bringing in fresh recruits in the final third must be a priority to deal with a hard Championship season, but it’s not a case of signing anyone, as they need people who can handle with the strain of trying to return West Ham to the Premier League.

Isidor checks all of the boxes when you consider his age, profile, and previous advancement from this level.

Ipswich’s interest in Isidor is a problem for West Ham because they can offer Premier League football, so it will be interesting to see how it plays out, and if Sunderland does let the ex-Monaco man leave, he could still play a significant role at the Stadium of Light with the additional games that they will play this season.
