The full list of Coventry City players who will leave this summer. Jaime Allen

Coventry City are having a successful season under Frank Lampard this year, with their sights set on promotion to the Premier League.

Last season, the Sky Blues were denied a return to the top division after losing a play-off semi-final to Sunderland, with Dan Ballard scoring late in extra time.

The team has not been in the top division since 2001, and they will be hoping to break their 25-year drought by going one step higher this season.

With the January transfer window being closed, we know what the squad will look like for the run-in, as the top of the Championship table becomes increasingly competitive.

Here are the players who will be leaving Coventry this summer as of now…

Jamie Allen

Jamie Allen joined Coventry from Burton Albion in June 2019.

The midfielder was part of the team that was promoted from League One in 2020, and he has also been a steady presence for the club during their time in the Championship.

The 31-year-old has slid down the pecking order under Lampard, but he has shown to be a valuable member of the squad as they compete for a place in the Premier League.

Allen’s most recent contract extension, signed in April 2023, was valid until the summer of 2025, with an option for an additional year.

While the condition for an additional 12 months was triggered last year, his contract is now slated to expire in June.

This could be his final few months at CBS Arena, given how limited his minutes have become in the previous year or so.

Allen has continued to play on a semi-regular basis under Lampard, although his starts have grown increasingly rare, with the majority of his appearances coming in the final minutes of games.

On that premise, it’s unclear whether he has a future with the Sky Blues beyond this season, regardless of whether they make the top flight.

Brad Collins

Brad Collins is presently on loan with League One side Burton Albion, having joined the club in the summer.

The goalie slid down the pecking order at the CBS Arena in the 2024/25 season, making only 15 Championship appearances.

The 28-year-old hasn’t played for the Sky Blues since a 1-0 loss to Luton Town on April 26, 2025, and that could be his final appearance with the club.

Collins’ contract expires in 2026, and it is uncertain whether he will be included in Lampard’s future first-team plans.

He was loaned out to the third tier this season and has been a reliable presence for Burton since his debut in September.

Given that he is unlikely to be Coventry’s first-choice goalkeeper again, it would be unsurprising if he was released as a free agent when his loan period expired in the summer.
