Following a very busy winter transfer window, Queens Park Rangers’ squad is expected to change even more in summer.
In January, the R’s signed Southampton defender Ronnie Edwards and Coventry City attacker Justin Obikwu, while forward Michael Frey left Loftus Road permanently to join Swiss side Grasshopper.
Edwards struggled for game time in his latter years with the Saints, owing to competition from Taylor Harwood-Bellis, but had earlier demonstrated his talent in QPR colours, making 22 appearances during a 2024/25 loan spell.
Meanwhile, Sam Field, Liam Morrison, Alfie Lloyd, and Murphy Cooper have all completed loan deals away from the West London club.
Following mid-season transfer activity, QPR are aiming for a Championship play-off berth in Julien Stephan’s first season in command at Loftus Road.
The R’s have had numerous great wins this season, notably a late January triumph over highfliers Coventry, but they have also had bad setbacks, such as a 2-1 loss to relegation rivals West Bromwich Albion in December, demonstrating their inconsistency.
Football League World looks at the R’s players whose contracts will expire this summer.
Paul Nardi

Stephan has been unable to select between Paul Nardi, Joe Walsh, and Ben Hamer as his first-choice goalkeeper this season.
Nardi, who joined QPR on a two-year deal in 2024 after leaving Belgian club Gent, is expected to quit the West London club when his contract expires this summer.
The 31-year-old was heavily favoured by former R’s manager Marti Cifuentes last season, appearing in all but one of his side’s Championship fixtures and keeping nine clean sheets, but he’s been in and out of the starting eleven this season under Stephan, with the role shared with Ben Hamer and Joe Walsh.
If Nardi leaves Loftus Road this summer, he will be looking for his seventh club, having previously played for Nancy, Monaco, Rennes, Cercle Brugge, Lorient, and Gent before joining the Championship side.
Isaac Hayden

Isaac Hayden rejoined QPR on a free transfer last summer after leaving Premier League club Newcastle United.
Hayden previously played on loan with the R’s in the second half of the 2023/24 season, before spending time on loan with Portsmouth last season.
The experienced midfielder’s first tenure at Loftus Road saw him help QPR avoid relegation to League One, eventually finishing six points above the drop zone as Cifuentes pulled off an incredible escape.
The 30-year-old has frequently appeared as a substitute for Stephan’s side in all competitions this season, but he is poised to leave west London again this summer, when his contract expires.
Hayden has a solid football education as an Arsenal youth graduate, and he went on to spend five Premier League seasons with Newcastle; nevertheless, that experience may not be enough to earn him a contract extension.
Steve Cooke

QPR triggered a one-year extension clause in Steve Cook’s contract last summer, but he is now expected to leave Loftus Road at the end of the current season if nothing more is done.
The veteran defender joined Stephan’s side from Nottingham Forest in August 2023, having previously gained valuable experience with his old club Bournemouth in both the Championship and the Premier League.
Cook was a regular for the R’s in the 2023/24 season, scoring two goals in 36 second-tier appearances, before making an additional 33 appearances across all competitions last season – he’s continued that into the current campaign despite his age, so it would be surprising if he wasn’t offered a new contract when the 2025/26 season ends.
