On his 100th appearance, Lamine Yamal demonstrated his generational skill with another spectacular solo goal for Barcelona.

Despite rumors that he suffered an injury during the warm-up before the Champions League semi-final first leg against Inter Milan, the 17-year-old, who made his Barcelona debut at the age of 15, was well enough to start for Hansi Flick’s team.

Just thirty seconds into the match in Catalonia, Marcus Thuram produced a stunning flicked finish, giving Barca a terrible start. Denzel Dumfries then made it 2-0.

Yamal began getting on the ball and driving at the opponents as the home team gained momentum.

Then, in the 24th minute, the Euro 2024 Young Player of the Tournament calmly curled the ball in off the post to cut the deficit after he had picked it up down the right and jiggled in between tackles.

The goal, which lighted up the Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium, was the 15th goal of the season for the Spain international.

A few minutes later, the unafraid Yamal came very close to scoring another absurd goal by turning Federico Dimarco inside out and then taking a shot that Yann Sommer blocked.

Yamal is well on his way to becoming the greatest player in the world, having amassed an astonishing 22 goals and 33 assists for Barcelona since making his debut.

Just before halftime, Ferran Torres, filling in for the injured Robert Lewandowski, equalized with a cushioned header from Raphinha to make it 2-2.

“Incredible qualities” is how Lionel Messi has described Lamine Yamal.
Yamal, who wore Lionel Messi’s old number 19 on his back, has frequently been compared to the best player in Barcelona history and the club’s all-time top scorer.

Additionally, Yamal has received a ton of praise from the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner, who apparently has a photo of him as a newborn.

It’s amazing what Lamine Yamal can do. Messi informed Simplemente Futbol that he had already won a Euro championship with Spain.

He’s still only 17 years old, so he’s still developing as a player and will keep improving, just like me.

“He is already among the greatest players in the world and possesses amazing qualities.”
