Matheus Cunha, a striker for Wolves, was seen in a video that went viral when Fabrizio Romano presented an update on the situation around the Wolves striker’s potential transfer to Manchester United.
Wolverhampton Wanderers stunned Manchester United by defeating them by a score of 1-0 at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon. This victory came only a few days after the Red Devils had achieved a remarkable victory that earned them a berth in the Europa League semi-finals.
Both teams are not in danger of being relegated this season, and as a consequence, the outcome will not have a significant influence on their seasons. However, it did bring Wolves and United to the same point total, although they are behind United on goal difference. Wolves and United are currently ranked 14th and 15th in the standings, respectively.
Cunha, a top player for Wolves, was seen interacting with United supporters after the game, which sparked speculation that he would sign with the club this summer. This was perhaps the issue that generated the most discussion following the match.
As a result of Cunha’s strong start to the season, it seemed as though he would be departing Wolves during the midseason transfer window. Arsenal and Chelsea were among the teams who were said to be interested in acquiring his services.
In spite of this, the Brazilian player finally made the decision to remain at Wolves and sign a new contract. This is a choice that he gives the impression of regretting, given that he has been vocal about his desire to leave Wolves this summer.
United have emerged as the favourites to recruit Cunha this summer, and footage of his post-match performance on Sunday looks to suggest that he is willing to make the transfer. This came about as a result of the fact that existing attackers Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund continue to provide disappointing performances.
The striker, who has scored 14 goals in 28 Premier League games this season, is seen in the video that has gone viral taking photographs and interacting with United supporters who are pleading with him to come to Old Trafford in the summer.
A new update on Matheus Cunha’s connections with United is provided by Fabrizio Romano.
At the time that the transfer window opens in June, it is quite probable that a number of teams, both from within the Premier League and from outside the league, will be interested in making a move for Cunha.

However, a recent update from transfer expert Romano has revealed that United continue to be the frontrunners to grab the 25-year-old player’s signature. This comes following conversations with both Wolves and Cunha, who has a release clause in his current deal that is worth £62.5 million.
Posting on X, Romano revealed: “Manchester United are winning the fight to recruit Matheus Cunha from Wolves as discussions are underway.
“Personal terms are being discussed, as Manchester United are aware of additional clubs’ interest, and there is a release clause available for £62.5 million.”
“Good feelings after initial contacts between Cunha and #MUFC.”
