Jamie Vardy Delivers Scathing Rant & Slams Leicester City After Relegation

Following Sunday’s 1-0 home loss to Liverpool, Leicester City’s 2024–2025 Premier League relegation was officially announced. In other words, “our place in the 25/26 Championship has been confirmed,” according to the club.

The Foxes have had a really bad season, sitting 19th in the division with 18 points after 33 games and only four victories overall. With Ruud van Nistelrooy in charge, they appear to be absolutely toothless as they have lost their last nine league games without scoring a goal at home.

Now that relegation has been confirmed, club legend Jamie Vardy has expressed his emotions by publicly tearing down Leicester’s season with a stinging tirade.

Jamie Vardy calls Leicester’s terrible season “a complete embarrassment” for himself.

The striker did not mince words as he apologised to the supporters in a message: “It has been a ‘total embarrassment’ of a season.” He stated in full:

“I’m at a loss for words at this point. The way this season has unfolded has left me feeling angry and saddened beyond words. There are no justifications.

“We failed as a team, as players, and as a club. There’s just no hiding, and I’m not going to entertain the idea of hiding.

We’ve had many highs and lows during our lengthy tenure at this club, but this season has been nothing but awful and, for me personally, a complete shame. I’m aware that you’re experiencing the same pain.

“I apologise to the supporters. We apologise for not performing and for having such a bad show to close out the 2025 season.”

It now appears that Van Nistelrooy will be leaving after firing Steve Cooper earlier in the season. According to GMS sources, Leicester board members are fans of Como coach Cesc Fabregas, but they are also interested in Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Rohl and Russell Martin.
