In 2022, Greenwood was essentially expelled from English football due to severe off-field accusations. Marseille supporters aren’t one to be silent on the subject, and a banner calling on the Englishman to work harder was unfurled on the north bend of the Orange Velodrome prior to Saturday’s Ligue 1 encounter against Montpellier.

Based on internet comments, it appears that just a tiny percentage of Marseille fans are worried about his performances.

“This obsession is starting to get out of hand, especially when you see the incompetence of other players who really don’t do any better,” said another, and “A****les to put that on Greenwood!!!” said a third. We’re not even in the top half of the standings, and he’s not here! Then they whine about how great players don’t visit OM! Really, a****les!”
