Rumors that Aaron Ramsdale has agreed to join Newcastle in the summer transfer window have been refuted by the player.
After signing a £24 million contract to join Arsenal from Sheffield United in 2021, Ramsdale appeared in 78 games during his first two seasons in north London, appearing to have cemented his position as the team’s top player.
Ramsdale’s future at the team was called into question by David Raya’s arrival from Brentford on loan, and Mikel Arteta has only allowed the England international to play in six Premier League games so far this season.
Raya is anticipated to become a permanent member of Arsenal in the summer, and there are rumors circulating that the Gunners are open to receiving offers for Ramsdale, who still has two years left on his current deal.
Ramsdale has long been admired by Chelsea, who have been closely monitoring the situation. This season, Mauricio Pochettino has alternated between Dorde Petrovic and Robert Sanchez in goal.
Speaking on Highbury Squad, James Green of Sky Sports asserted that the out-of-favor shot-stopper had reached an agreement with Newcastle regarding a possible move to St. James’ Park.
“I understand and I learned straight from the player’s agent that one of our players is heading to Newcastle and that a deal has been agreed upon,” he remarked.

I really don’t want Aaron Ramsdale to leave Arsenal as a fan. However, as a former England goalkeeper, I would prefer to watch another keeper grow.
Upon closer inspection, I believe he would have a better chance of making the first team if he went to a place like Chelsea. I believe he would fit in with a few teams, possibly even West Ham.
