Ruben Amorim aims brutal dig at Wayne Rooney after Man United legend calls him naive following FA Cup exit

After Manchester United’s FA Cup loss to Fulham, club legend Wayne Rooney made some comments, and Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim responded to those comments by threatening to take action.

United, the current holders of the FA Cup, were eliminated from the competition in the fifth round on Sunday evening. This occurred after the team was defeated by Fulham in a penalty shootout that took place at Old Trafford.

Amorim, the manager of United, stated that it is still his objective to win the Premier League with his new club, despite the fact that the club is currently in a difficult situation. He made this statement immediately after the match.

The claim made by the Portuguese manager was met with severe criticism from the legendary player of the club, Wayne Rooney. However, Amorim has now responded to the former United forward, and he is not pleased with the response.

In the aftermath of the match, Rooney expressed his belief that Amorim’s optimistic outlook for the future at United was “naive,” considering the fact that the club was currently ranked fourteenth in the Premier League table.

And when he was informed by reporters exactly what Rooney had said, Amorim made it abundantly clear that this was his long-term plan, and he made sure to poke fun at the pundit about the choices he had made regarding his professional life.

” That is the objective. If we were to believe that we are going to achieve our goal this season or that we are going to be the best contender for the following season, we would be naive.

It is my understanding that at this very moment, everyone is aware of everything. I was a pundit when I finished my career, so I am aware that it is really simple. I know that it is really simple.

After stints at Derby County, DC United, Birmingham City, and most recently Plymouth Argyle, Rooney has attempted to follow the list of former players who have gone on to become elite managers. However, he has struggled to achieve this goal.

The next thing that Amorim said was, “Our goal is to win the Premier League. Perhaps it is not with me, but our goal as a club is to win the Premier League like we did in the past with all of the great glories and the legends of this club.”

“We want to do better and we know that we are in a difficult moment, and I’m not naive, that’s why I’m here coaching Manchester United at 40 years old.”

Not only did Rooney refer to Amorim as naive after the match, but he also admitted that he is of the opinion that if he were still playing at his peak today, he would not want to sign with United in their current state.

He made the following statement: “If Manchester United were to come across me at this time and I was a top player playing in a different country, I would be thinking that I’m not sure.” It is unfortunate that the club is not currently competing in the Champions League, as the best players want to play in that competition.
