Fans have already made their minds up on Marcus Rashford at Aston Villa after first appearance against Spurs

Marcus Rashford made his Aston Villa debut in the FA Cup game against Spurs.

Marcus Rashford made his Aston Villa debut on Sunday, and fans have already formed opinions about him.

Rashford joined Unai Emery’s team on loan until the end of the season after being shut out by Ruben Amorim at Manchester United. The club has the option to purchase him for £40 million.

Rashford and fellow loan addition Marco Asensio were on the bench for the FA Cup fourth round match against Spurs, wearing the No. 9 shirt that Jhon Duran had left empty after he signed for Al Nassr in a £64.5 million move.

Rashford and Asensio were brought on to a roaring reception in the 66th minute after goals from Jacob Ramsey and Morgan Rogers put the home team ahead 2-0 at Villa Park.

Despite not playing until the middle of December, Rashford looked really sharp and had a point to prove in his cameo, especially with the fans cheering him on. One of Rashford’s main moments was when he nutmegged Pedro Porro in spectacular fashion when playing down the middle but floating out to the left.

The England international demonstrated his willingness to put in effort and work for the squad and got along well with his new teammates.

Even if Rashford’s return to the pitch in a different environment was simply a replacement appearance, there was already a lot of favourable feedback.

A member of X commented: “Marcus Rashford has shown more attacking intent and quality in 5 minutes for Aston Villa than all of the Manchester United attackers in the last few weeks combined.”

Another person said: “There’s not a single attacker at Manchester United better than Marcus Rashford I’m sorry.”

Another stated: “Marcus rashford looks on a mission, he’s gonna show the world.”

Another wrote, “This Rashford performance is teaching you that environment / culture is EVERYTHING.”

A fourth supporter was furious: “Amorim gaslighted the braindead section in our fanbase into thinking Rashford wasn’t training properly lmfao.”

“Rashford is balling out there man,” someone else wrote. It does make a difference to play with considerably more talented players.

According to a last comment, “Villa genuinely look like world beaters with Rashford.”

Rashford will be looking for his first Premier League start on Saturday when Villa hosts Ipswich Town, since Ollie Watkins is sidelined due to injury.
