8 Players That Will Miss Bristol City vs Wolves as 130-Cap International Has Been Revealed

Bristol City and Wolverhampton Wanderers will square off in league action for the first time in eight years on Wednesday night, with both hoping to build on their October victories.

The Robins were involved in a thrilling match against Bolton Wanderers, but they came out on top 3-2 thanks to Scott Twine’s 93rd-minute goal, while Wanderers made it three wins in a row at home against Cardiff City.

As a consequence, Wolves moved up to third place ahead of the midweek round of fixtures, just two points behind the automatic promotion spots after 13 games, while the West Country outfit climbed to 14th.

An interesting encounter is predicted given that the two teams have combined for 38 goals this season, with the visitors scoring 23 of them.

However, Michael Skubala and Cesar Peixoto may be without up to seven players.

Bristol City

Noah Eile

Bristol City will be without Swedish defender Noah Eile, who has been out of action since the start of the last international break owing to sickness.

Skubala, 24, has only made three Championship games as a result. He provided an update on his health ahead of the midweek game.”He’s still building back,” stated the City Manager. “He’s probably the furthest away still, because of his condition, but he’s doing better every day. He’s back out on the grass now, as an individual.”

Rob Dickie

It is also unclear whether fellow center-back Rob Dickie will make the matchday squad for Wednesday’s showdown, as the experienced figure has missed City’s last six matches due to a knee injury.

Skubala admitted that he lacked the necessary match sharpness to face Bolton, but Dickie has returned to training following a lengthy absence.

Elijah Adebayo

Elijah Adebayo has been AWOL since the 1-0 loss to Sheffield United on October 17th, after making only six appearances for his new club after signing in the summer.

The seasoned forward has yet to score in red, and it is unclear whether he will be fit to face Wolves after suffering a quad injury.

Skubala, on the other hand, has stated that the forward is “not too far off” from returning.

Wolves

Nasser Djiga

The first of five probable Wolves absentees is center-back Nasser Djiga, who missed the victories over Watford and Cardiff due to a groin ailment.

Peixoto stated ahead of Saturday’s victory, “We’re not going to take chances with him.” I believe he’ll be back practicing with us next week,” however it’s unclear whether the midweek match has come too soon for the Burkina Faso international.

Jordan James

One blemish on Wolves’ triumph over Cardiff was the 36th-minute withdrawal of Jordan James, who suffered an unlucky injury after attempting to play on for 10 minutes after initially feeling discomfort.

Last season’s Championship Young Player of the Season has excelled in the early stages of his Molineux career with two goals, but it is unclear whether he will play on Wednesday.

This comes after the midfielder reported feeling unwell in the days leading up to the game, despite examinations revealing no severe abnormalities at the time.

Boubacar Traore

Boubacar Traore played his final minutes in September’s Black Country derby victory over West Bromwich Albion, after missing the previous six Wanderers games.

The 25-year-old had been out with a calf injury, although it was reported that he had returned to training at Compton Park ahead to the Cardiff match.

Bertrand Traore

Bertrand Traore, his namesake and experienced winger, may miss more than just Wednesday’s trip to the West Country.

The 31-year-old, who was recruited as a free agent, returned to training before of the weekend’s game after suffering a hamstring injury, but was not included in the matchday squad, with Peixoto stating: “They’ll need more time before they’re ready to play.” “But they’re improving.”

Raul Jimenez

Raul Jimenez, a 130-time Mexican international and Molineux cult figure, will undoubtedly miss the Old Gold and Black game.

The 35-year-old returned to the West Midlands on a free transfer in June, having already scored three goals in his first six Championship games before suffering a catastrophic knee injury against Everton in the EFL Cup two months ago, prompting Peixoto to face widespread criticism for his team selection.

Jimenez has already undergone surgery to address the issue, but he is not expected to return to full health until January.
